Warm up your voice before singing
This is so Important !
Before you run, you need to do some warm-up stretches to loosen up your muscles and this is the same in singing. Without vocal exercises you can pull or overstretch the muscles especially the vocal folds in your throat(larynx). About 20 minutes of vocal warm-ups is a good length before you start to sing/perform.
